So Update; a couple of guys on the UK Corvette OC got in contact and this evening I popped to see one of the guys to give their C5 a go. Well the verdict...

....and this will either be a shock or asd expected...

...I fit without an issue! horray!

The car i tried was an almost identical spec to the one I'm buying with regular roof, sport seats etc, and with a bit of fettling, it was no issue getting in out and fitting in general. One observation is that my head, after adjusting the seat all the way back, was about 1" from the plastic behind the T top. No major issue although a heavy bump in the road may mean cranium -> roof.

So the car might knock some sense into me...?

Makes me laugh when people say how hard it is to get in/out of the C5. Obviously these folks have never gotten in/out of a C4.

I'm 6'4" and have my seat down and reclined slightly but not all the way back. I do have the front of the bottom seat raised slightly to support my hamstrings, but have lots of room. I would sit and adjust before deciding.

My coupe has the base seats with power driver.

I'm 6'2 with a 34" inseam, I like long walks on the beach and love animals On a serious note, my bottom half fits like a glove but on my vert I do have to sink down to see most stoplights. I don't know if the coupe's are any different but I wish the top of the windshield was either further back or up about an inch. I don't know how you 6'2"+ guys do it?

I also 2nd 66dts...clearly they never had the pleasure of navigating a size 15 sneaker under the dash but over the massive door sill while not hitting the door in a C4. I've docked boats with less work than getting my feet in or out of my 94'.

Yeah, at 6'8", you might have some moments of discomfort....but maybe not. Depends upon how you're built.

I'm 6'5" at 270+ and do just fine, even on long trips. Yes, I'm close to touching my head and have lean over to see some lights turn green, but hey.....once yer in, it's worth any difficulty you had getting there.

Note that there is a handy little "shelf" in the door jamb/sill just below the latch bar where you can rest your hand as you get in and out. Very helpful to keep you from wrecking your seats bolsters and whacking your head on the roof.

Good luck....hope you fit because it is Sooooo worth it!

I'm 6'4" and 304lbs with a size 15 Nike shoe. I have to almost kneel down and then slide into the car. But once I'm inside, I fit fine! I have the seat slighlty reclined and as far back as it will go. It is an automatic and I like to stretch my left leg out (where the clutch pedal would be) and my right leg I stretch out while on the highway with cruise on. The only time I feel slightly cramped is when I bring my legs back and my knee can probably be seen above the window sil... Other than that, I fit great in my C5!

Did you get to drive one of those cars you "tried on"? If so, what did you think about it?

Congratulations! It's obvious you really want a C5 and I'm glad it's going to work.

I have a friend who grew up in London and several years ago I asked him to find me an old Jaguar XKE the next time he went to visit his Mom. He laughed and said he would try, but that I could find more XKE's here in Texas than he could in England.

Again, congratulations and welcome to the Corvette addiction.
Chas.

Something must be wrong with my seat or roof. I am 5'10" and have only 2" of headroom in my 04 z06 with the stock seat.

I'm 2 meters tall. I have to hunch a little in the Corvette.

It "sort of works"

can't help you on the shoe size... 13s here.

If you're fat, the car is oging to be a real tight fit. If you're thin, it's not so bad.

Maybe the bulk of your height is in your torso....
