Loosing coolant and cant find it
this is the point.
I'm loosing coolant and cant find it.
I'm loosing coolant and cant find it.
- No white smoke
- No leak in the radiator
- No leak in the transmission coolant reservoir
- No leak by the hose
- WaterPump, no leak from upside and downside
- No leak if i leave a card box under the car
- try a smoke test, A1, no change in the color
- the reservoir cap pressure test well at 15psi

I'd double-check the reservoir. Mine was doing the same thing, losing coolant with no apparent leaks. I finally found one of the nipples leaking through a crack right where it meets the rubber hose so it was hidden.

I couldn't find my leak either until I took it to a local "'Vette Guru" where he put it up in the air and ran it.
Finally could see it leaking from the water pump. But mine was just over 100K at the time.....don't know about yer miles. It was very hard to see.
Now I have a pinhole leak in the surge tank where the upper hose attaches. Only leaks a little under pressure. Got a new tank, just need to install.
Good luck.

I am not sure what you mean by "No leak in the transmission coolant reservoir."
Is this an A4 automatic transmission? If so, coolant can leak into the transmission fluid by way of a leak in the transmission fluid cooler loop in the radiator.
If it is an A4, check the transmission fluid with the engine running. When the engine is shut down, the transmission fluid rises way above the level of the check/ fill plug. If you remove the plug with the engine shut down, you will have a big splurch on your hands and will need to refill the transmission.

I know he had to have it in the air with a very good flashlight and didn't find the trail right away.....took some looking. But it was significant to actually lose coolant level over a few days.
How many miles on yer ride?

already put 3L before we change the hose from the rad to the TB
top up yesterday, maybe little bit air in it.
no move since yesterday
but question : right on the COLD MARK, if i'm going for a ride, do i have MORE or LESS coolant in the tank when I came back??
