Hey guys......I want/need some ideas on installing stereo equipment on a c5....
First of all, I want to know EXACTLY what the original setup is for the stock BOSE stereo in my recently purchased c5. It NOW has a navigation system in it and front speakers, but as far as I can tell, no rear speakers. I think the previous owner had a SERIOUS system in there that he took part of it with him when he left.
Door speakers were (factory)...........? (size, 2-way, 3-way, small subs?)
Rear speakers were (factory)..............? (same questions)
Are those 2 sets of speakers the ONLY stock locations for speakers in the car?
Were there any subs with the original factory BOSE?
I also would like to hear some ideas of what to replace them with. What have some of you guys done?
How big can I put in the doors/rear without a lot of modifying.?
Thanks........

THANKS. much appreciated... EXACTLY what I wanted to know.......
Ok......... now I need to figure out what I want to do... I probably want to get as close to stock as possible (not BOSE, but as far as the size of the speakers etc.). I would like to put it in without a whole lot of modifying.... I want it to "look" original, although behind the scenes it will not be.
Remember it has a nav.
Question. My nav "resets" every time I turn off/on the car. i.e. the radio frequency resets to 87.9, etc. but it seems to keep time. and also I have to turn it on every time I get in. Is that normal? Is that the "way it is" with aftermarket stuff in a c5? It doesn't/can't run on the same power supply as the stock radio? If so, One benefit I guess with all stock radio is that if you turn off your car with the radio on, it will still be on and come back on when you get back in and start it up.

+1 on the suggestion. dennis is definitely the man when it comes to this kind of stuff. understands the subject and more importanly understands what customer service is supposed to be. you won't be sorry for the time spent with him.
