Hearing a bird under my hood???
Yes, a little chirping going on there. From what I've read it's time for a belt replacement. Agree?
Gator appears to be the belts of choice and only $7 on Rock??

Could also be the bearings on the tensioner pulleys... you can tell by giving it a small squirt of WD40 around the pulley nut and then start it up again and see if the noise goes away. If thats what it is, it usually goes away for a short time...

A loose belt would be the first thing I would check. Back in the old days when one could work on their own car without having a degree in computer science we had something called "belt dressing". Worked a treat!

Make sure your crank pulley is not wobbling.
That also could cause chirping. If it is, replacing it now will save you a costly repair later.

Thanks for all the comments. With only 4,600 miles on the car I'm hoping it's nothing more than the belt, but I'll certainly check!!

Sounds like it could be one of several things. Hope it is the easiest and cheapest thing to fix.

A easy way to tell if one of the pulleys need replaced is to spin them when the belt is off.
If they spin freely, replace them.
( Hint, get a new one a spin it, it might go one full rotation at the most because it is full of grease. )

Could also be the air conditioner clutch....
take of the lower belt and drive if squeak remains it is a pulley on the top belt....
It if goes away it's either the lower belt or the A/C clutch.
