BSM's are off! So far so good, no surprises.
Well guys..........after weeks of mulling it over, I finally decided to remove my BSM's yesterday. I used very thin 10 lbs fishing line because I didn't want to damage the BSM's or the paint. It worked extremely well and the line only broke once. I used plenty of WD40 to soften the adhesive and keep the line lubed. All four sections came off with no damage so if anyone wants a pristine set of Quicksilver BSM's, PM me.
Now, I need to remove the adhesive. I soaked the adhesive with WD40 yesterday and will be removing it tonight. I did try removing a small section next to the fender cove by rubbing with a rag and it all came off fairly easily. So I am pretty happy so far. Even with most of the adhesive still there, the car looks much better. I never liked stick-on additions on any car. Actually, I don't like any additions to a car's body that does not serve a purpose other than esthetics or bling.
I'll post up some pictures once I'm all done. Thanks guys for providing the encouragement to remove those god-awful things.

that the BSMs have come off with no problems. Best of luck getting the adhesive off too.

Well, I'm done! The adhesive came off pretty easily by rubbing with a microfiber cloth and some WD40. I then finished it off with some turtle wax bug and tar remover. I put a coat of ICE wax and voila! It's like the BSM's were never there. Here are a few pics showing the residue and the final finished product. I could not get better pics because with the car outside due to the rain.

After reading this, mine are coming off tomorrow IF it stops raining, and IF I don't get lazy. But they will definitely be off by Christmas!

For anyone wanting to remove them, go for it. But, you need to make absolutely sure that your car has original paint. You can see this by carefully verifying the edges of the BSM's and looking for differences in paint texture (orange peel). I used a strong LED light and inspected the BSM edges along the joint lines looking for any paint irregularities or overspray.

I have been debating about doing this. I think it looks better without it, but I'm nervous that I would mess up the paint or that there would be some kind discrepancy in the area where it was. I guess I just need to get the courage to do it!
Your car looks great OP!

Thanks guys for the words of encouragement. I would have never done it if it weren't for this forum. Heck, there are a lot of fixes I would have never attempted if it weren't for this forum.....
