Broke center console latch on the C5 - Pic inside
Hi guys, while performing some shifter work today, I somehow broke the little plastic latch on the inside of the console. Not sure how it happened.
In any case, does anyone know who makes a replacement and where I can get this piece? A link would be awesome!
Thanks!

Your dealer should be able to get one for you - it's called a Latch Assembly, part number 88952201 and I paid $31.21 for one for my car.
If you want to try a used one, give Marc at VetteNuts a call. He may have one.

the receiver as seen in the photo looks good to me. .
If the latch does not work according to what I see, you just pushed the pawl down to the closed position... if you reach under the pawl, you can flip it back up into the open position.

FYI, that part is made by a second tier supplier, cost to manufacture is 2.34 cents for the latch complete assembly.

Not sure what is broken in this picture.. that latch is almost bullet proof made of glass filled nylon and it would take several hits with a hammer to break it.. The part pictured is the receiver, which consists of a pawl, a housing a ball, rivet and a spring. The latch or catch is located on the console lid.

just put a small flat blade screw driver under it and lift it up ( it will "snap" back up using 5 lbs. of force.. From what you are saying the paw was pushed down ( which it will do ) , if something forces it down accidently . The paw will flip up to 45 degrees to accept the catch, which is on the console lid..
