Rear End Make-over
Acquired this great 04 from fellow Forum member Robvette04 but when I got back to NC I could not pass the safety inspection without removing the black-out kit. Car is AWWSOM but without the black-out the back looked naked so I had to make some changes. I've attached the before and after pictures just to show the contrast - like them both!
Before
After
Added spoiler, black tail light screens, black lettering and black window tinting.
Looks like state of NC cost me a few bucks...

Never been a fan of the taillight louvers, but the car looks good. Might be interested in painting the fascia like this to add to your black accents.
edit: not sure why the same photo posted twice..

Yeah, not wild about the taillight louver look, but it does look better than the blackouts. Nice car you have.

Just painted it. Mask tape off the area carefully and cover the rear in newspaper. I used 1000 grit sandpaper to rough it up just enough for the paint to adhere to. Spent maybe 12 bucks and a little elbow grease. Came out great.

Even your license plates know what to do to those nasty light louvers.

careful with those louvers - or any other taillight covering. if someone rear ends you their lawyer can claim its your fault because your brake lights weren't DOT legal. your insurance drops you and the guy who hit you can sue for everything. just my advice, be safe out there.

Looks great! Good job and congrats on the new ride
I don't want to spam your thread so I won't post a pic of my rear for options but another option if you decide you want to change it up but keep the blackout type theme. I have led halo tails and the lense on the halos are a lot brighter red than the stockers. I had to cut some of that bright on the rear so I went to the auto parts store and bought some "Nite shades". I did the halo lenses with 3 coats or 4(can't recall now). And the back up lenses got 2. I think if I had stockers I might try one coat and possibly do a second. Shouldn't really "black" it out but it might give more of that "black cherry" that Richard Todd puts on the lenses.
Just some ideas for you but the Vette looks good
