All of your write-up was really interesting. Thanks for providing it. Your distinction between types of C1 is quite valid. Like you, I think that the late C1s are the real beauties, but I also like the ealy rocket-finned ones.

I know nothing about the interiors of the older cars, am only able to comment on the exterior.

The more I see the C7Z, the more I love it. While I do love a lot of things about the C5, I love my brothers C6, I loved my C4, and I still wish to build a chrome bumper C3. But as far as most beautiful, there is none more than a '63 split.

This is awesome.

For me it's tough but I'd say:
C5, C6 (very close), then C2, C7 (back end just kills it), C1, C4, C3

I've owned a C4 and 2 C5's and my favorite was the one I owned at the time! BTW, did you get yours at that "GoodWill" store? Nice ride though!

My C5 is beautiful and I have considering upgrading to a convertible. I think I am gonna stick with the C5 still !!!

I will say that if money was absolutely no object I would get a C7, but I would like the technology better but not the looks!!!

For me :

C7
c5
c6 gs
c4

after that you can keep the rest, not into the other eras at all.

Unfortunately, I have way too much money in mine to even think about selling it and buying a C7.

The "57" Corvette is the best looking Corvette ever built!
Don't argue with me because I know I'm right!

I tend to agree, but IMO the '63 split window and '67 big block coupe are the best looking Vettes ever made.

C2, C7, C5... but the C7 is new and cool. I might loose interest in a few years.

Wouldn't matter if I absolutely loved the C7 styling & had 70 - 80K to blow, I wouldn't buy one.

I'd never experienced claustrophobia, until I recently sat in a C7 for the first time. No thanks, way too cramped. I'll keep my roomy, comfortable and beautiful C5 coupe.

I thought every generation was an upgrade to the previous and always made the previous generations look out-of-date they day they were introduced... until the C6. The C6 was the first that "looked" like maybe a predecessor to the previous generation. As for the C7, I am not sure what to think of it? It looks like something that was designed by committee and had to have every mod on the checklist glued on somewhere before it was released - each piece looks good on its own, but just does not look cohesive. For me the C7 is interesting, but not on my list of things to lust after.

Looks like for me the quest will end with the C5.

it's hard to judge, i do think all of them in their own way look unique to the times they came out...
i have actually seen some of the new ones around my town, and i think they look awesome. i'll never be able to afford one

i do think the C4s need upgraded wheels, the factory wheels to me look like crap! (the 85 i am lusting after right now has 18" wheels and looks so cool and unique!!!!)

ok, that '63 above w/the modern wheels and the LS3 engine-is AWESOME!!!!!

This reminds me of when I was in college and we would sit around in the men's dorm having a discussion about which Playboy playmate was the best looking. The answer here is the same, they're all winners, not an ugly one in the group. I tried three times to write a list and each time I had to stop because there are exceptional cars in each era.
If I had unlimited funds, I'd buy:
A boat-tail C1
A 63 Split window or a 66/67 big block coupe
A 69 Cortez Silver roadster with an LT-1 upgrade
A 92-96 Vert LT-1 green with tan interior or a white on white on white
A 03/04 MSG Coupe, light grey interior (hmmm that's familiar)
A Cyber Gray Gran Sport
A silver C7 Z car
Then I'll take turns driving them all.

1963 Split Window Coupe.
I consider it 'art'.
