Default Hood air extractor vents?

My car is supercharged and raced regularly.
I would like to add some vents to the hood to let the heat out, but I don't want a call induction hood and I don't need a new hood.

Has anyone heard of vents you can add?
I'm thinking a row of vents down each side like many of the carbon fiber hoods.

It seems one should be able to cut a hole in the factory hood and epoxy in some vents. Well a good body shop should be able to.

Google "hood vents". There are a lot of different styles out there.

I did.... they look like they belong on a honda.

I would like something made for a vette with some recommendations
from someone who has used them.

The APR Performance ones are not to bad. Don't know if the fit the curve of our hoods.

I looked for years and only found hoods that have a raised center section for Maggy's. I wanted a flat hood, just with vents. No such luck. Here's the ones I found:

I fully figured the market is only asking for raised centers. Thats is why I want to add vents to mine and not buy an after market hood. There is no reason to raise the center with a vortex super charger.

The SRT viper had one year that had nice looking vents. I even looked for a used/damaged SRT hood that I could cut them out... no such luck on that avenue either.

Both links are for the vents installed in C6es. Don't know why you couldn't put the side vents into a c5. Cemter one obviously wouldn't work.

Wow! Thanks for posting these links. Those louvers look awesome, and very functional!

I've been thinking about some hood venting to help flow through my intercooler, but I hadn't found any vents that looked like they would fit on a Vette.

These are very nice looking! I think I'll be doing them sometime during my winter mod season.

just saw these on evilbay. If they were painted, they'd probably look good.

Trackspec Motorsports sells a set for the C5. I only have the center heat extraction louvre, but you can also buy the over-wheel pressure release louvers from them as well

Front fascia alligned with new modified hood

Detail of the new hood

Still to come, bronze Forgestar CF5 wheels, and black C6 Z51 Calipers with drilled rotors

It wasn't hard, no. I used the combination of a jigsaw with a fiberglass blade, and a long precise hand saw to cut through the supports. Just be careful when you fix the parts to the hood, if you tighten them too much, they can start to deform the shape of the hood around the vent
