Hey guys, is this a good trade???
I have a c5z with kooks long tubes & catless X pipe. I have the stock titanium axle back still on my car.
I'm looking for borla stingers to replace the stock titanium.
Someone is making me an offer to trade. Not sure if there's additional cash involved yet or if it's a straight trade which is how it seems so far. Is this a good deal? Am I missing something about how valuable the stock system is?
I figure worst case if I don't like them I can end up trading them for a stock system again no problem?
Thanks in advance....

Melting Slicks
There seems to be a lot of people who seem to want the original system back after running something loud for a while...
Just sayin'...

If you want it really loud do it. I think the tone of the stock catback is better in MHO.

Stingers new can go for $800-$900 - used and in good condition, $500-$650. Stock Ti's in good condition typically go for $350-$450 here in the 4-sale section. I have run and sold both in the past.
I had to get rid of my Stingers due to the unbearable resonance I got on my '02 coupe. After 30-45 minutes of driving, I would literally be naseated from the resonance. I switched to a set of Ti's which have zero resonance but are considerably tamer.

The wise have spoken!
What should I do if I want something a bit louder and I already have long tubes & xpipe ... catless too. ?
Is it really that loud to where I will be asking to be pulled over? :/

Bahhh...I never get tired of disturbing the peace you bunch of liberal conformists!
Chris...you can do the Tibypass...that's what you're going to be told I'm sure. Decent way to get a little more sound out of the Ti. For me...BB quad bullets...the tips are more profound than the Ti's plus they stick out even with the bumper versus tucked in.
Here was a quick cell vid one of my service techs shot, with AR longtubes and catless X right after I put it on...going past my shop.

I recently put the TI exhaust on our 04 vert......love it........much improved over stock....but, could be a touch louder.....so, I am going to try the bypass mod....
You might consider this as an option for you as well........

Either put cats on and get the stingers or keep the TI's without the cats longtubes+Catless+stingers/bullets=too loud/rasp/drone i personally like the sound of stingers/bullets with cats best as opposed to no cats and regular style or TI mufflers

straight trade then yeah it's a good deal on your end... he should be asking for a couple hundred on top assuming his is in good shape so if you can get it straight across I'd go for it... I've heard that stingers drone but I think I would rather live with that over the tame titaniums, they are just not my cup of tea and were one of the first things to go on my car

Question for you guys: I just rode in a buddys car yesterday.... I'm wondering if his is louder than mine would be with the stingers? Or vice versa... Info:
His:
LS2 C6: CAI / Longtubes / cam / catless Xpipe / borla stingers
Mine (theoretically after the stingers):
LS6 C5Z: CAI / Longtubes / catless Xpipe / borla stingers
Which would be louder? I would get a good idea if I knew how his current setup would compare to my setup after the borlas are thrown on (in regards to loudness / drone)
Hmmmmmm.......

Your buddy's car will be slightly quieter from inside, because a C6 has more sound insulation than a C5Z. A cam makes the exhaust louder, too. It's really hard to compare a C6 with a C5Z, because the exhaust system is configured differently. A C5 with Stingers is gonna drone @ around 70 in 6th gear, so at least install a partition. I couldn't stand my two tip Stingers, and that's before I did heads/cam, etc. I have Corsa Pace Car now, but I'd rather have the Ti's back, so far as sound. I wouldn't trade my catback though, because I love the two big oval Daytona tips. BTW, I have HF cats, and they do make a decibel difference.
