You shouldn't have to (if you're sure they were installed in the correct locations), but it's not going to hurt anything if you put them through the learn process again (just to make sure they were in fact installed in the correct locations).

The AC Delco sensors should come with new caps (just not the nuts).

I had a problem like this on my 01 and it turned out it was dying batteries on the key fob. Might be a cheap quick fix.

I assume GM has not produced these TPMS in quite a while so how fresh will the batteries be in the new ones.

Not sure how a dying battery in a key fob can affect the TPMS but okay. Maybe worth looking at. But it seems to me the only thing a dying battery in a key fob would affect would be the things the key fob controls (i.e., door locks, hatch/trunk opening and panic alarm). Am I missing something here?

They actually were/are made by Schrader in England: AC/Delco has about as many different parts suppliers as, well, GM. The ones I got this month had 2014 date codes and are identical to the originals that came out.

I ordered the AC Delco TPMS units from Amazon. They will be delivered next week Wednseday. What type of magnet should I buy to program them before installation in the tires? Is there a magnet power rating that I should look for? I assume I can pick one up at the local hardware store.

Any good-sized magnet will do. If you've got an old speaker laying around, that would work (all but the tiniest speakers have pretty strong magnets). Frig door magnets won't do (not strong enough magnetic pull). You can also buy a TPMS magnet (like this one
Amazon.com: Schrader 20143 TPMS Magnet: Automotive Amazon.com: Schrader 20143 TPMS Magnet: Automotive
), but you shouldn't need to if you've already got one strong enough laying around.

Emphasis on quality tire pressure gauge.
Sounds like the TPMS was doing it's job.
Verify TPMS vs. tire pressure gauge are the same reading.

Good advice but you are replying to a thread from 2014.
