Default ABS Fixed for 1/10 the cost!

I have a 2003 Corvette and the panel lite up like a Christmas tree indicating a problem with the ABS. The Chevy dealer wanted $3,500 to repair it. They only replace the parts not fix them. I sent the ABS brain unit to “ABSFixer.com” for $200, plus $100 for my mechanic to remove and reinstall the part. ABS fixer gives a lifetime warranty on the repair and my mechanic plugged it back in and it is working perfectly!

Just be happy you don't have a 97-00 car.

$3500? You can buy a brand new AC Delco unit on Amazon for $600. It's about an hour job to replace it, so the dealer is charging almost $2000 for an hour of labor. That is criminal. There must be a law.

There is a law, the law of supply and demand.

Actually if they claim more than an hour labor they're lying and it is fraud.

I'm sure they are charging full retail on the part.

Isn't retail for the EBCM about $1300? Even at that price $2200/hr is a little steep for labor.

Want overcharging, go get an out patient procedure some time. If you don't like the price the dealer is quoting, you don't have to get it fixed there, as a matter of fact taking a car to a dealer after the warantee runs out is asking for it.

Independent shops will screw you just like the dealers. It's about honesty and fraud. The ECBM job can be done in an hour by a backyard mechanic. A trained mechanic should be able to do it in that amount of time. $3500 is fraud.

What sucks is I worked where they were probably made years ago. I did machine repair at Kelsey Hays (1998-2000) and we made a lot of different ABS systems. To bad I couldn't get them to make some more. I'm sure GM wouldn't allow it.

That's why I will never buy a new GM product.

Default Abs quick fix

Had ABS lights on dash of my 99. Found suggestion on forum that may be caused by not being used. ( I drive too carefully?). Anyway, recommended that it-ABS- be engaged to free up internals. Did so. Good fun and haven't had problem since!

Maybe someone will eventually make one using a 3D printer.
