Default Forgestar f14 wheels

Hello

I am looking at buying a set of these forgestar f14 wheels for my 2004 vette.

I was looking at going with the 17/18 combo.... Does anybody have these wheels in this size on their c5 vette and could provide pictures?

Was told the 18/19 is better for filling wheel wells but wanted to see how the 17/18 look on car.

Thanks for the help.

If it's for cost savings that you want to go with 17/18 it will be minimal. I don't know anyone who runs these wheels in a 17/18 combo...if anything, go with an 18/18. These are great wheels, but a 17/18 will just look weird. Save the regret and do it right the first time...18/18 or 18/19

18x9.5 and 19x11 for me.

I know it is not what you were asking for, but I think you may find that most go to at least the 18/18 setup. You can check out this thread posted in the Z06 section that has tons of information and pictures. I don't recall anyone doing 17's up front though.

Thanks everyone for the info and pictures.

What width tire can you do front and rear of car without having any rubbing or Turing issues or so on?

Keep in mind I would want to keep the tires tucked in the fenders like factory set up.

Really liking these wheels though!

Nice job with this car. I'm not a big fan of mod's but you really have done a nice job with this one. Clean, perfect stance, perfect fender gaps, right size sidewall on the right size wheels, consistent color scheme. Mint.

Not trying to steal the thread in a different direction but what are the weights of these wheels in either 18/18 or 18/19?

Thank you for the kind words. I was going for the clean and simple look. I always liked the less is more look. And if your going to do it you got to do it right lol.

I will answer my own question after searching for the weights of these wheels which aren't bad at all.

Here is stock:

F 17x9.5" = 19.2 lbs | R 18x10.5" = 21.0 lbs
F 265/40ZR17 = 29 lbs | R 295/35ZR18 = 33 lbs

Forgestar F14/ Bridgestone Potenza RE-11:

F 18x9" = 20.5 lbs | R 19x11" = 25.5 lbs (both via bathroom scale)
F 265/35R18 = 28 lbs | R 305/30R19 = 32 lbs (via Tirerack.com)

I had this same concern when I was looking for mine. I ended up being a bit different in my approach to tire sizes. Here was my post in the Forgestar thread noting my tire size choice and some pictures of the wheels to fender.

Thanks for info and looks good!

So do you notice stones and rocks flinging up against the car with the tires poking out slightly?

Also, I wonder after looking at thread how some are running 305 in the back and they are flush with no poke?

Wheel rep I have talked to recommended to me I go with 18/19 combo and tire size below

Front: 275/35/18
Rear: 305/30/19

I did notice stuff kicking up on the car, so I just bought and installed C6 style splash guards and modified them to match our wheel opening. There are multiple threads on that as well, plus other styles that are wider (C6Z and Apsis) that you could use. I believe the Apsis are made for the C5 specifically so no cutting/shaping needed. Just wasn't my taste as I wanted small but effective. They work okay, probably could have gone to C6Z for slightly wider and still inconspicuous. Most of the noise I think is actually up in the fender liner and not the body though.

As for tire sizes, I don't think those are too far off. I used online calculators and the Forgestar F14 thread for my guidance. I think the differences came done to how low you take the car and what camber you are running. The lower it is, the more tuck the top of the tire will have. I'm lowered on stock bolts all the way and wasn't planning to go any further so I went on the conservative side with tire sizes and am extremely pleased with the outcome.

If you d a 275/35/18 the tire sidewall will be noticeably biggerr than the rear tire.

I recommend 265/35/18 and 305/30/19 that's the tire size im running. The rear sticks out maybe 1/2 inch at most if even that but im also lowered on zip bolts.

I have a 245/40/18 on the front of mine with a 305/30/19 rear and it looks pretty balanced. A 275/35 would have a very slightly smaller sidewall (1.75mm) than my 245/40 so I don't see any problem with running that combo.

Another one for the new Borla exhaust. I have the S Type 2 with headers. Love it.
