Valve springs
I've seen several post about the yellow valve spring on ls1 that had some issues.i took my oil cap off and shine a light down in valve covers and noticed that mine looked black looking.my car is a 2003 coupe just wondering should I be worried.thanks for any reply.

Yes you should be worried, paranoia can be a real problem.
I know next to nothing about valve springs, pretty near expert on internet negativity and wise cracks.
I think the valve spring issue is for the high performance heads on the Z car, but you might check those details. I seldom worry about stuff on my car unless it is broken, , perhaps this explains my absence at any car shows.
I can understand your concern about broken springs, and if it helps, my stock valve train has been revved about half way into the caution area on the tack, no problems. I hadn't planned it that way, but I ran out of gears so quickly, when I looked down at the tack, saw I was conducting an unplanned stress test until failure.

Just kidding around, glad you could take a joke, I usually wait until a couple of paragraphs in before the real violent name calling starts.
it's a lot of car, any reasonable owner would have concerns occasionally. I know I do, but don't mind dealing with a little extra concerns to get some back.

OP, you are safe for now. If you upgrade your cam move up to Patriot Gold springs and hardened pushrods.
