Default Best clear coat for wheels?

I have stripped the scratched and scuffed clear coat off my SSR-GT7 wheels and am ready to clear coat them. Is there a better kind to use for wheels?

Are you wanting to keep them the same color?

Yes. I used them for tracking for a couple of years so they are scratched pretty badly. But the scratches are just on the clear coat, not on the metal themselves.

Oh ok.. I was going to suggest if you wanted to switch things up plasti dipping them black and then you could use plasti dip clear coat (it's called glossifier) on top and it really looks good. Would definitely cover up the scratches and you could do all 4 for under 20$

I did some C4 wheels a few years ago. I used the Duplicolor clear wheel paint. It looked great for a few months then started turning yellow. In about a year it wasn't clear, it was still getting darker and it started to crack and chip.

I would not use that paint again.

Good luck with your project.
