Default Rebuild the 5.7 or try to exchange for 6.0 or 6.2

To all the GM members much smarter in the GM ways than myself... I Have a Question.

Should I Rebuild a 5.7 engine .030 over reworked heads, throttle body ect ect... or can I replace the 5.7 with the 6.2 or 6.0 engine. I do understand that the a new wire harness and brain box will be needed but will have to mess with the drive line ( transmission ) or anything else...? Would like to make this my New Years project.

The LS1/6 blocks have very thin cast iron cylinder liners. 97-98 blocks can only be honed 0.004", 99-04 can be honed 0.01".

You can buy 6.0 short blocks (built with 24 tooth reluctors) that will accept your LS1/6 computers. You will need a new front cover, valley plate, and a couple add on wiring harnesses to extend the knock sensors and the cam sensor, but most everything else will transfer over from the LS1/6. A block like that with all forged components will set you back about $4K.
