Default Cost to lower car on stock bolts...

I'm having some work done on my 98 next week and was thinking about having it lowered at the same time. I don't have the workspace to do it myself right now. What would be a reasonable charge for this? I was thinking around $100.

I wouldn't think that much.. just a few turns of a wrench
Real simple procedure.

Yup, it's an hour of billable labor, so yeah, $100 is reasonable even around here.

Paid LG Motorsports $100 to do it while they were doing all my cam work. Seems a pretty standard price.

better set aside $200.'s, you'll need to get a 4 wheel alignment done also, if you haven't had one for several years.

Not a bad price to have a shop do it. Wish I could do it to mine, but I'd never get the car in and out of the driveway.

Same price to raise it as to lower it.

How low can you go with these cars? My 99 FRC already scrapes the front plastic scraper thingey (technical name) somewhat often.

Also, what exactly is involved?

Ive seen them pretty low.

Ive been trying to learn myself and from what I gather its really as simple as loosening a bolt on each corner of the car.

if you want to go even lower you can buy longer bolts which allow more room for travel.

I want to do this myself before the spring, I really wanna have the car nice and low.

Lowered mine on stock bolts myself. The 4wheel alignment was $90. I was shown the alignment specs before and after. All the specs were out before the alignment. There were only two specs they couldn't get to tolerances after (they were close). It made a HUGE difference on how the car rode - nice & straight!

I drove my car about 100miles before the alignment to allow the suspension to "settle ". I had a 4wheel corner weight alignment done at Phoenix Performance for about $130.'s. On the ride home I thought it was a different car, handling and steering control were simply outstanding. The alignment guy told me the alignment from the factory is not always in spec and the $100.'s spent for an alignment on a car a year old would be advised.

Yup - driving to allow the car to settle is very important. I drove around for about two weeks before taking it in

You also might think about getting some rocker panel protectors.

Speaking of rockers, I had to drive over one of those tire destroying parking lot teeth things a while back (the correct direction, of course), and one of the teeth left a very light scratch along most of the entire driver side rocker pannel. It looks like it could be fixed with a quick feahtering out and re-shoot of clear, but if I start down that road, I'll want to get all the rock chips, and it becomes a never ending battle. You drive them, they get imperfections.

You don't need much work space. Hell you could do it in a parking lot really quick. It's It's a simple and quick mod
