Removing the Options sticker from your glovebox
Does anyone know of a way to safely remove the options sticker without destroying it? I have a new glovebox to install and want to place my current options sticker onto the new one such that it looks like it was placed there from the factory. I know that if I just start peeling it off that it will mess it up and I need it intact. Thanks for any help!

I've thought of trying that, but I thought I'd wait to see what others have to say before I do try it, in case someone has done something different that worked. Thanks for letting me know that at least I am in the ballpark for methods....lol.

There was a thread on this subject years back, one of the recommendations was to take a digital picture of the original sticker and have it made into a new sticker. I think a couple of recommendations were to contact a Sign Shops, or a decal maker to see if they did that kind of work.

Thank you! I will try that along with the razor blade and take my time with it.
That's why I love this forum! You guys all pitch in to help others.
The whole reason for trying to save my original sticker was to keep from having to pay for a new one, but you can be sure that I will take a few good pictures of the original just in case my efforts go badly. Thank you for the advice!!

Try this place, I stuck the website info into a one of those "hang onto folders" awhile back. Not sure if they make all type of replacement stickers.

It is obvious that GM didn't intend for these to be removed (it does say "DO NOT REMOVE") and there is no good way to do it that I can see. I tried the hair dryer and a razor blade and tried to go slow but it didn't matter - the sticker comes off intact but the white backing comes off in strips. Oh well, I'll just figure out a way to paint the back white and then glue it down on the new glove box. If there's a will, there's a way!

Thank you and I love that idea, but since I found mine in the shape shown in the photo already before I even touched it, (and I didn't want to destroy the Light Oak glove box by cutting it up because I will try to sell it) I couldn't really do that. It is however, a great idea and would definitely make it look better than mine looks now. I decided to try using some liquid paper (whiteout) on the backing plus on the plastic too, then use a glue stick to give it good adhesion. It worked out pretty well but you can tell it ain't factory-fresh...
I'll get a photo of it later.
