Default Anyone have acustom straight pipe exhaust

I plan on either buying a set of B&B bullets single tip for $500 or having my local muffler shop make me a set of straight pipe exhausts using the exact same design as the borla straight pipes. Has anyone done this and if so how does it sound. From what i have read the drone on the straight pipes is much less than the B&B bullets. If the price is the same or similar i will go with the B&B which will run me $600 installed do to me not being able to do it myself.

Mine is a custom straight....there is drone but its not terrible my pipes kinda give it a rumbling idle and when mashing the peddle gives it a exotic car sound almost with hints of muscle lol thats the best i can explain it....

How much did it end up running you for the setup.

Custom straight pipes here. Built off the Borla straight kit only difference is they use a 4 inch tip where I used a 4.5 inch. Sounds amazing really deep rumble getting up to speed but at 60ish no drone what so ever I can have a conversation with no problems. And did I mention how deep it was. I have 96.00 total in mine. 76.00 for the tips from oreillys and 20.00 at muffler shop to cut and build back out. Friend owns shop.

Yeah considering i was a friends shop that price is pretty mucy totally inaccurate from my experience....
@ OP
My setup ended up costing me installed everything about 350 but i switched.from quad tips to dual tips too so i had two less pipes technically thats really the only difference....and YOU WILL GET DRONE with straight pipes i notice it a lot of 60-70 it becomes harder to talk to friends in my car....my pipes werent built based off of a borla kit so i cant compare to those however it could be different...

Funny you ask about all this because im actually taking off my straight pipes in a month or two and going to be selling them to switch to a full exhaust system setup

Yeah everyone's reply will be different. Like I said I have no drone at around 60 u can here it but it's not loud inside car. I can carry in a normal conversation. But if ur burp the throttle it will growl really deep. But yes very noticeable drone at lower speeds say city driving. Imma a person that doesn't mind drone but sometimes I'm even like Jesus Christ. But anyway you have some great opinions now.

Why not get cutouts? You can have it loud as fawk or stock quiet.

Love my straights. I get drone at 2100rpms. Not a problem because that's like 82-84 mph. This is catless longtubes as well

I thought the Borla "straight" exhaust had a small muffler ahead of the axle - was it called the XR or similar? Maybe that's what eases the drone of true straight pipes.

Not trying to steal your thread, but I have a question. I have Corsa exhuast from axel back. Can I remove everything from the exhaust manifolds including the cats to the Corsa exhaust and replace with staight pipes? Good or bad idea?

Thanks

How about straight pipes and STS Baffles different lengths will give you a different sound.
