Interested in this Vert Advice Needed
I'm really interested in this 2000 Corvette.
http://www.parkplaceltd.com/used-car...ctual_~Year_/6
http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archi...ERTIBLE-174726
It was supposedly owned by Jim Epler.
Besides that it has everything I wanted in a C5 Vert except the NOS system which I don't care for.
Dealer doesn't know much more than the mods listed and I don't want to buy a potential timebomb. The Barret Jackson site stated the engine was performance built, but dealer has no receipts of the mods performed, so I have no idea if the car was ran like a dog with the NOS or if the transmission and rear are ready to grenade at any moment. Also curious about who tuned the blower setup.
Does anyone here have any contact info for Jim Epler or know anything about this car?
I would like to find out as much as I can about this build, before I go any further.
Any advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated.
I know I know....the variables about buying a heavily modded Corvette, but I'm not interested in stock C5s or resale value.

Spend a few bucks for a PPI
Unless they have documentation on ownership by Mr. Epler it would be kind of rude to contact him imho.
Have you considered hiring a vette specialist do a PPI. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

As for its prior owner claims I was hoping someone from here recognized this car.

Drifting
Car looks clean.
I hope the engine has been worked on to handle the nitrous and maggy.
the gas cap, fog lights, and a dozen chrome nick nacks look pretty cheesy though IMO.

Without knowing who did the build and having receipts for the work, I would proceed with caution. Lots of nice upgrades, but like you, I wouldn't want to buy a potential time bomb.
Not familiar with that car at all so can't help you there.
