Tires size for wheels and tire opinions
I'm a new forum member and the proud owner of my first Corvette! Picked up a mint 1999 Torch Red M6 coupe Saturday! It has the wagon wheels which I don't like and bad tires so I just ordered a set of C6 Z06 wheels of OEWHEELS. The sizes are 17x9.5 and 18x9.5. What size tires do you guys recommend for these wheels? Do any of y'all have opinions on the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport?

So from my research I'm finding that 275/40R18 is the correct size for my rear. Should I run a 265/40R17 or 275/40R17 on my front? Any advice and recommendations from you experts would be great!

You could probably run either, the 275 would be 1"smaller in dia than the rear & the 265 would be 1.315 smaller.
The 265 would probably be close to flush with the rim, and the 275 would probably bulge past the rim about 3/16" all depends on tire manufacturer.
With the 275's the sidewall height would be identical front & rear.

As for the bridgestones youll find everyone has a different opinion and swears by their tires
Honestly as long as you dont have goodyear runcraps on the car youre fine and it seems like youre already willing to move away from runflats so i wouldnt see an issue for you then....
The potenzas will be perfect for you a lot of guys at my local corvette club run them and they love them they say for price they are one of the best in class....if you have money to blow onviously michelins are the best you can get but a good new set from tirerack runs almost double the potenza
Hope this all helped

Thanks for the input I really appreciate it! I'm already regretting not ordering the 10.5" rear so I can run the 295 rear tire.. But I'll have to settle for a 275. Yes the run craps on my currently suck!! lol Money is always an object or I'd be driving a C6 Z06 and listen to the lovely LS7 growl at me! For the money I think the Potenzas are a good buy. What type of tires are you running?

and true enough about money being an object honestly if money were no object i'd probably upgrade too...but I do love my C5 so that'd be hard to get rid of...

I have the same size wheels and have the Potenzas as well. For the money they're a good tire. If you have the money and plan on attempting to push the limits of your car then get the Michelins.

well I guess next round I'll go with the michelins, but my car will be stock for a while. I'll have the C6 Z06 wheels and tires installed on Friday, I'll post a pictures for you guys! Hopefully I can get away without spacers since I'm only running the 265 up front and a 9.5" wheel with a 275 in the rear.

it doesn't help this time around I had to buy new rims, plus I am doing $2,000 in other "updating" based mods....
best of luck with your vette man!

My Wheels came in yesterday and I got my new C6 Z06 replicas and Bridgstone Potenza RE760 Sports installed!
Before:
After:
What a huge difference in looks and performance!! My intial impressions of the Potenzas are great! My car drives, turns, grips, and rides like a vette now!! But I've only gotten 15min of driving on them, I'll report back after more "research"

I'm running the exact same setup on my 99 FRC lowered on stock bolts.
