Default B&M T-Handle Installed

Hi guys, over the weekend I figured I'd change up the look in my A4 so I decided to change out the shift ****. I wanted to go with a T-Handle and found this Aluminum B&M one for under 30 bucks from Summit (part number 80941) I also purchased the C5 A4 shift adapter to install the T Handle. Install was very very easy, less than 10 minutes. Snapped a couple pics.

I didn't have to drill or tap anything, the handle threaded right onto the shift adapter. Although I didn't use them, the handle did come packaged with many different adapters for use with other vehciles. I think it looks much better and feels a lot better than the stock shift as well. Now I have plenty options if I ever want to change shift *****.

What you will actually need is the C5 Automatic Shift Adapter Kit. This kit allows you to install any aftermarket shift **** with the 9/16-18 thread pattern. To shift gears all you have to do is push down on the **** itself.

This is the one I bought

I just think the "T" handle is the best ever! But my wife want's nothing to do with it. What can I say? It's her car. In fact I switched to an "Eight Ball" type shift **** and after a couple months she made it very clear that she wanted the stock **** put back on.

Like it. Nicely different. Had same one on my '70 Z28 stick. I wouldn't put one on a stick today, but really works on the auto.

Yea, I don't think I'd put one on a stick either, but it does fit and feel very nicely with my auto. I'm happy with it and it was a cheap mod.

Too bad Hurst doesn't make the dual gate auto shifter to fit the C5. I had one on my old '79 Z28 with a Hurst T-Handle. Auto mode on the left side, swing across to the right side for manual mode.

We used to call that a "His and Hers" shifter in the Pontiac GTO's.
