Just power brake it a little and then just mash it! It's freakin' awesome! The burn out haters are right though and I'm sure you realize that it can be expensive! I'm 60 years old and still love a good burn out. Keep tryin'. You'll get it.

I have 2.73 gears in mine and it will not spin, as a matter of fact from a dead stop to about 40 mph it's pretty boring. But, if you stomp it in low at 40 mph ... it screams!
And that 28 mpg is pretty sweet.
(If I wanted to smoke the tires I would just get a stick shift. That always works.),

Honestly, I always planned on teaching her, so when she complained about it when I bought it, I reminded her of this. She wasn't impressed
Now, however, she just recently brought it up again; she's recently realized that being able to operate a manual transmission can be a marketable skill no argument here

As others have said, do the swap to 3:42's. I did, along with a new RPM A-4 and a Yank SS3200 converter. You will have no problem lighting it up........In 1st, 2nd and probably 3rd if you are crazy enough to try.
Don't worry about the cost. In a few years you will have spent more on new tires than the mod.

Your car's results are not applicable to his in this discussion. The LT-1 makes about the same amount of torque at 2500rpm as the LS1 makes at 4000rpm, there's less weight over the rear of a C4 since it didn't have the rear-mounted trans, and you have much better gearing (same first gear with a lower differential gear, 2.73 vs 3.07). My 93 LT-1 F-body did burnouts and got sideways with ease as well with its 700R4 and 3.23s, but once again, that's a completely unrelated setup to the OP's
