FAST 90 or LS6 intake for bolt on motor? Need opinions
Hi guys,
I'm looking to upgrade the intake on my 2000 Coupe - it still has the crappy LS1 intake on it. The car currently has a blackwing CAI with a vortex power duct, a small 212/218 .525/.529 cam, ported and flowed 78mm throttle body to at least 940 cfm, TPIS headers and corsa pace car exhaust. With the current mods, do you guys think I'd be better off getting a LS6 intake or a FAST 90 intake?
I'm planning on upgrading the heads to a set of 243's in a few months also. Still, not sure if the FAST is worth the extra $$$ for what (minimal?) gains I'd see with such a mildly built motor - even with the small cam and 243 head upgrade in the future. I don't want to shell out an extra $600 for a FAST (even more than that with the 90mm TB upgrade and fuel rails) for a measly 10 hp or so...
Let me know you guys think.... need opinions on this one.
Thanks

I'd just go with the ls6 and spend the extra money elsewhere. Now when there's not a lot left to add or on a big h/c big cube motor a ported fast is worth a lot more than 10.

Just a little more info, I recently (last month) bought an LS6 from another site for $350 and sold my LS1 on fleabay for $225. Took about 2 days to find one and 2 days to sell mine!

That sounds like a great deal... Stupid intake prices are skyrocketing!

ls6... fast is a waste of money on your setup, it would be more beneficial with a much more aggressive cam and ported/aftermarket heads
