painted Fuel rail Covers
previous owner did half assed paint job on covers. What's the best way to strip these back down to original finish?

Aircraft paint remover,, DO NOT let it sit for long,,,wash off with soap and warm water.
Then if needed, apply some more, and repeat till it is off....

You can pick up covers in the for sale section. Much better than messing around with strippers and maybe not liking the end result anyway IMO.

Burning Brakes
You might get away with paint stripper, but it's pretty caustic and you have to remember that the rail covers are plastic. This would need to have you pay close attention to the time allowed for the stripper to work before it starts to work on the plastic itself. If the plastic surface gets marred or discolored by the stripper you will probably have to re-paint them or just buy new covers. Jus Say'n !!
