Great find!!! I'd say drive it awhile before you start changing things. A little time getting to know the car could help decide which direction to head!
Congrats & Enjoy!

Looks fantastic!
Congrats...and welcome to the asylum!
Sebring Silver with a Firethorn red interior is both beautiful and rare.
Best advice I can give is to take some time to get to know your car and research (here on CF and elsewhere) what your options are. Develop a theme for your car and then start planning/executing mods accordingly.
Here's what I did...
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...t-project.html
Grand sport theme...
Customized mod red interior...
Minor mods to keep the stock look but improve upon it...
...the best modded cars you will see (IMO) have followed a similar path where there was a vision first, then the mods to fulfill that vision.
Enjoy the ride!

welcome to the 97 owners club, I have a black on black, with headers, k&n open air filter, axle back, slotted and drilled rotors and now going to install z06 shocks and sways. I spent a winter getting everything that was broke fixed, after all its 18 years old, from under hood lite to window reg. rebuilding the pass sunvisor was a real hoot.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!
Any recommendations for headers and cam? Also a tune?
Ideally looking to be over 400hp and next step may be some suspension work. Thanks!!

Melting Slicks
Can't stand this 98, All i do is drive and enjoy the hell out of it!!! There are a lot of nice mods you can do to your car. Mass flow sensor. change out the air box,cat backs, tune, intake, Not big money in any of these.

Welcome - you will love the car. I suggest you read the book All Corvettes are Red by James Schefter. It gives the story behind the development of the C5 - which ultimately became the 1997, but at one time was supposed to be a 1993 car. Great history on the quality built into the car and why certain things are designed as they exist.

Burning Brakes
Sweet looking ride, still so impressed how well these cars look after 18 yrs.

Burning Brakes
Start small and smart, change out 'all' fluids, upgrade brakes and brake lines (stainless braided), make sure that the A/C and radiator cores are 'absolutely' clean and start having fun with mods or just driving it !! It becomes an addiction fast !! And most of all, don't forget the 'Wave'.
