My first Corvette…BONE stock except for exhaust and intake. Low miles and was barely driven.

Looking to add some HP…maybe 50-75. Ideas? Where to start?

Thanks

Headers, cam and intake.

And congrats on your C5.

Congrats, no better feeling than your first vette! Second the header, cat back, add a tune to get a 40+ HP bump. I do however suggest getting to know your car and driving a few months prior to adding any mods. You'll want to plan out your goals for mods so you dont have to redo anything in the future.

But we need pics!!!

Take it to a shop that knows C5's and get a tune. See if you want more power after that. At the very least you will notice an improvement and it may even be enough for you.

Nice example of a 1997 for sure. The C5 is an amazing vehicle. Welcome to a bigger and brighter world. Congratulations!!

Head and cam is a good starting point for HP gains but, if the budget allows it. Go for a SC. You'll be well above 75 hp.

As you ponder those fun problems, enjoy your C5.

Nice...welcome to the C5 club. A lot of beautiful cars here. Hang a round a bit and absorb the awesome info and your answer will appear....Jim

My car looked almost identical to yours when I got it...I love silver cars.

Congrats...and welcome to the asylum!

Sebring Silver with a Firethorn red interior is both beautiful and rare.

Best advice I can give is to take some time to get to know your car and research (here on CF and elsewhere) what your options are. Develop a theme for your car and then start planning/executing mods accordingly.

Here's what I did...

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...t-project.html

Grand sport theme...

Customized mod red interior...

Minor mods to keep the stock look but improve upon it...

...the best modded cars you will see (IMO) have followed a similar path where there was a vision first, then the mods to fulfill that vision.

Enjoy the ride!

Ah yes, the horror of owing an early C5. Sleepless nights worrying about when something will go wrong. Both you and the OP have great looking cars. Years of enjoyment to come. And to the OP, you can't buy a chip for these cars but they are infinitely tunable and you can do a "mailorder tune" by sending in your cars computer.

Nice wheels - add some LED lights that will reduce your weight and definitely improve your performance!
