Default First trip in the c5..

it's 98 6 speed.. all stock.
I have a 77 auto as well with a mild 383..
Now I love my c3.....
But.......... I drove my wife to some local (NY fingerlakes) wineries and oh what a pleasure this thing is. We usually take the c3 and love it. but man the c5 is so much smoother to drive. The HP may be about the same but the ability to deliver the power is just so much more refined in the c5.
I swear, this thing has over 100 k miles on it and it's smooth and tight. the interior is so quiet. I just love it. I think the c3 will be used for local shows and meets. I do still love the raw c3 look and the raw ride but man, The c5 is such a docile creature and yet when I get into it it rages soooo nicely!!!

The C5 is a great road trip car and as a bonus it gets great gas mileage.

Bought my 99 in PA last fall and drove it home 150 miles. I was pretty nervous about driving an "unknown" home. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice they are on the highway. I see you're from Mexico. I'm in Cicero. Rides around the Finger Lakes and some local shows/cruises are on the "to do" list!

I agree C5s are great on trips, I flew to Houston bought mine and drove 850+ back to Birmingham, so much better than my C4.

I flew to Texas and drove 1250 miles home to Michigan. Was VERY comfortable.

Even the wife said it was better than she had thought it would have been...

Nice choice timgman. Great driving destination the Finger Lakes. That was my first long trip in my C5 as well.

I pass through Mexico, New York about four or five times a year on my way to Oswego Speedway. About a 9 hour drive for me but the racing at the Home of the Supermodifieds is worth every minute. I will wave next time through.

That would be correct ...

... 7,694 miles in 18 days in April 2005.

I drove mine from CT up to Cayuga Lake near Ithaca...after I took the runflats off and put on Hankook V-12s. The handling improved 10 fold.
What a riot tearing up Route 17 for 100+ miles!
