I would hope you know how to pull the DIC dash codes. Record them, clear them and go for a drive. Pull them again BEFORE you turn the ignition OFF.
One of the most important things you do in a C5 inspection.

Well I pulled the trigger got the 04 with 23k miles...best dealer experience I've had not high pressure yet straight forward had no problems with me fine tooth combing the car wuth the check list which they were impressed I went over the car with that detail. Found one minor issue the oil sender unit l has a slight seep which factored into the price. Car drove well engine sounds good. No codes other that loss of communication codes they had just put a battery in it which they were upfront about I did clear the codes went out for a romp and no other codes eveything I tested worked only minor surface scratch here or there all buffable. Undercarriaged supported the garage keep statement. All in all spend 3.5 hours combing over it the techs were impressed I was shaking down the wheels looking at the shocks end link's etc.
They were fair imo with the negotiations took off enough I said yes I'll put it that way! First mod I think will be some f14s....already has a Borla axle back.

My CU was closed today so going to finish the deal Monday to take it home, left a large Downpayment and signed all other relevant paperwork!

Its a borla nice tone but not loud enough, def some headers and x pipe to liven it up a bit and it was really a great experience no bickering or haggling I threw a legit fair number, they accommodated me, I got where I wanted financially and I know they did as well, I dont go throwing this out there but I worked in a dealer (service) for many years, so I understand both sides of the equation, if they stole the car foe a low amount, but got me where I am happy good for them, they were nice guys even if they were putting on a dog and pony show, it was a good one! Even got water, popcorn and a sandwich for lunch haha.
