Car dying on me and throwing codes...help plz
Hey, my car has been blowing a fuse (#22 -INJR1) and dying on me lately while driving it. After replacing the fuse, it runs fine again but eventually it will blow the fuse again. The codes its throwing P0171 H C and P0174 H. Can anymore help me figure out what might be the problem? Only mod I have is vararam intake that I've had for years now. I've recently replaced the O2 sensors but that didn't help either. I don't know a whole lot about cars but my mechanic can't figure out what's the problem either. I thought I could relay your advice to him. Thank you for any help.
update: problem solved.

Thanks for the reply! I did what you said and here are the rest of the codes besides the two I already posted:
B2282H
B2284H
B2264H
U1064H
B2283H
B2285H
B2265H
U1064H
That's all of the codes that were listed. Also, I forgot to mention, the car drives perfect until it randomly turns sluggish and dies. Sometimes it'll go days without happening, but other times it'll just be an hour or two before I have to change the fuse again. Thanks.

Melting Slicks
the codes mean lean bank1 po171 - lean bank 2 po174
I'd look at the air intake to make sure every thing is connected right and if it is then try clean the air filter and maf sensor ( make sure not to touch the the spring looking wire in the maf sensor )
also if you recently cleaned the air filter and re-oiled it chances are you got the oil from the filter got to the maf and is causing you problem
what fuses are you blowing?

Yeah I agree, that should have been something I included in the first post, didnt think to include it fit some reason. That is the only fuse it has been blowing. But thanks for the advice. Going to look at it today.

If you have a nice dark garage... you can start your vehicle in as close to pitch black as possible with the hood open. You will want to unplug your light on the hood and then you can watch and see if you can actually see any shorting taking place because of the arcing...

Yes, Bill Curlee documented that problem he had, It was at the back of the head on the Drivers side where the wiring rubbed a bracket there. I have the link to that at home.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to get my mechanic to look at it again tomorrow. I left the car at home while I'm a few hours away at school, so I'm pretty much just relaying any information you all can give me. Thanks.

So, your mechanic hasn't pulled the codes and done diagnostics? And he is relying on information your relaying to him from the forum to fix your car?... Are you suuuurre you want this guy working on your C5?
