Default Commence Mcleod RST install.

Thanks to Hinson Motorsports for the good deal on the Mcleod RST twin disc clutch. My old clutch I thought had failed but in fact was just the slave cylinder. I was having high rpm shift issues and slipping at the drag strip and road racing. It was time for a new clutch anyways. I have only owned my car a bit over a year now but I find it surprisingly easy with the help of online guides to help navigate me to removing and installing the clutch.
I am just waiting on the new slave cylinder, speed bleeder and ARP hardware to arrive before I can begin reinstallation.
Also, Fidanza aluminum flywheel for good measure.

Default Good clutch

I recently had mine installed by AHP in Los Angeles. Haven't really driven it agressively but i can tell the diffrence in shifting from 5th back down to 4th gear and then gunning it.

PS. I had an ls7 clutch set up before,
But wasn't cutting it for me.
Enjoy your new clutch.

Would you say the 5th to 4th downshift is smoother and easier? What flywheel ?

That clutch is so pretty. You should cut a hole in the floorboard to look at it while it spins.

It had an ls7 flywheel. Went with the ls1flywheel. Since i don't track the car nor do take offs i didn't need a lighter flywheel. I do my runs on the freeway. And yes. I meant to say downshift it to 4th. And it feels good as well. Street friendly? It seems like its factory to me.

Default also

Dont forget the specs on the install. As the measurements for it matter. You can see that on your install manual that comes in the box.
I went directly to Mcloed and bought mine. Then of course went to AHP for the install.

I finished up my install today. Bad news is this horrible noise. At first I heard a slight rattle. I took it around the block and came back to this noise right before I pulled in my driveway. I torqued the bolts properly. I measured the pressure plate fingers fine and I checked the clearance between the discs and flywheel with the clutch depressed and it all had proper clearances according to the instructions.

I'm installing mine as we speak. Sounds like something isn't engaging or loose. Time to pull it off again.. Good part it's not that hard to do. Let me know what you find out or need pics of something.
