Do you text and drive?
Probably a few of the vette crowd that don't even know what that means... but, most and certainly all the younger C5 guys know what it is and maybe still haven't stopped doing it...

You need to start a poll.
In the C5, no.

I have almost had several head on collisions with idiots texting. They crossed the centerline and I had to take the shoulder to avoid them. Drivers that text should be fined the same as drunk drivers. The accidents are just as lethal.

This happened about 10 miles from my house. Why are people so stupid?

I do not text and drive. I do however use the phone at times while driving.

texting
They say cell phone use is doing more damage and deaths than DUI, I think they should make the penalty equal to impaired driving. if you have your licence suspended for a year, car impounded for 3 months and about $2500.00 in fines I bet you will turn your phone off

Remember reading a map while driving before everybody had a GPS in their pocket? You held it IN FRONT OF YOU off to the side of the wheel, so you could still see the frickin road... now everybody tries to hide the phone (as if we can't tell you're playing with it, if not yourself) and runs into stuff instead.
I'd call it Darwinism and let it go if they weren't killing other people

I only read/send texts when I hit a fresh light. I don't even like to look at my phone while driving. I know checking/sending at stoplight is still bad, but I refuse to do it while driving. But still, shame on me. Although I don't have many friends, so I don't get/send a lot of texts anyway. lol

Only at a stop light and only a short message . . . I have a blue tooth ear piece I use for conversations and can also send texts from my phone by voice command.
So -- trying to be smart and safe about it . . .

Nope.
Then again, I don't text when I'm not driving either: if I want to have a conversation over a phone, I talk and listen...that's why they call it "conversation".
