Default My car stereo aux adaptor died on me

I don't recall what the device is called, but you plug it into the OEM deck to connect a 3.5mm audio cable. I purchased it from a vendor years back.

This morning I pressed the CD/AUX button and got nothing. It would only play the CD that was in the deck. Normally, I press CD/AUX and it would cycle between the CD and the AUX input device.

If I don't have a CD in the deck and I press CD, I see a flashing cassette tape icon. Never seen this before.

Anyone else had this issue with their adaptor?

if its the PXDX kit we sold you(green box) did your battery happen to go dead or get low? If so this is your problem. You will need to disconnect, reset it and it should be fine.

Hi there. I looked up the PXDX and can confirm it's the unit I bought from you.

Battery is a month old. I will disconnect it and see if it does anything.

Thank you for responding.

Unfortunately, disconnecting the battery didn't do the trick.

Would you happen to know how long the warranty is for the PXDX?

Could be the AUX portion of your radio. When I push my AUX button, nothing happens. When I tired to add an ipod adapter, nothing worked. I'd hit the AUX button and it wouldn't change. The only thing I can think is the radio itself is faulty. Hopefully that's not the case for you, but something else to consider.

I also had this happen years ago. You have to reset your pxdx as per instructions.

I had this problem before - You gotta go in the dash and disconnect/re-connect the PXDX unit from the back of the radio.

Never said disconnecting the battery

You have to disconnect the pxdx to reset the unit
the battery disconnect causes the problem with it not working.
Reconnect the pxdx and your problem will be solved

Gotcha.

I'll work on the car tomorrow and report the results back.

If for some reason it's the OEM head unit, let me know. I've got one I pulled out of my 2002. It works fine. I installed a DD years ago.

Thanks much! I will let you know after I hear back.

Side note: What part behind the OEM deck did you have to cut out to use a aftermarket deck?

Took everything apart again. Cycled all dip switches, plugged back in and no go.

Do you think I have a defective unit?

We just had to fabricate part of a new console, plus cut some metal from behind it, if I can remember right. It's been a few years.
