Default DIY repair for Road Gator damage to bumper

Okay, so a road gator jumped up and did a number on my Torch Red bumper. Did plenty of research to find that there is no easy way to do this. The best option for C5 paint is to have the entire piece repainted to the body lines (i.e. the whole bumper, door, quarter panel) the paint can be blended, but the clear cannot.

I used a Bondo product designed for the plastic bumper, Color Scratch paint and Dupli-color Clear.

Fix the damage, sand, then paint, wet sand with #400 and then #2000, spray the clear, use three coats over larger and larger area then very lightly go over the clear with wet 2000 and then buff. it's not bad but will have to do. FWIW, I am the original owner of the car 12+ years and 99K miles.

Did you just use that Bondo from the front as a filler, then sand it down to the right contour, or did you take off the bumper and fix it from behind too? It looks like it's cracked through and through.
Nice job though, looks good.

Well done, nice to see someone getting a good result w/o having to go through the expense of a body shop repair/repaint.

I have some light scratches on the my bumper on the passenger side just below the brake duct, can barely see it when looking straight on by I know it is there. Seeing your result gives me some confidence to tackle the job myself.

Nice job though, looks good.
I sliced out the ragged bits with a razor and just filled from the outside. I think the pros use a reinforcing tape from the back.
