New to me 03 AE Vert / Pictures
Ok, I tried to post some of these this morning and it just wouldn't work. Here is the C5 I bought on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I had been talking to the car dealer for over a week to work out a day I could make the 263 mile drive to look at it and hopefully purchase it. We left TN at 5AM Monday morning and were about 60 miles from the dealer when I got a call from the salesman I was dealing with informing me that the Vert had been in an accident on Friday. OK, needless to say I was furious because the owner happened to decide to drive it on Friday knowing that I was coming down on Monday to purchase the car. Good grief, he had a Porsche Carerra turbo, Maserati, and Mercedes among many other to choose from, WHY MY CAR!!!!. Anyway for some reason that morning while waiting on my son to get ready, I changed my filters on my search and there was another AE within 30 miles of this dealer, but, it was a coupe and I really wanted a convertible. There was another vert on our way down, but it had 111k miles on it and they wanted $2,500 more for it. We decided to go look at it after talking to the salesman for a while. Luckily the only damage was where the bumper cover of the SUV the lady was driving that backed into it hit it, that will buff out, and the emblem, that wasn't the right one anyway. I went ahead and test drove it and WOW, what a difference from my 89. My 89 was a blast to drive, however 110 more hp sure makes a difference and the seats and interior are great with all the more modern features. They were worried about an insurance adjuster looking at it so I told them if they would have the correct AE emblem sent to my house I would still take the car and buff out the nose myself. They agreed so now I am the proud owner, well, the bank owns it right now, of the car I wanted to begin with. The best part of all of this is that it was my 50th birthday so I got a 50th AE Vert on my 50th birthday. The wife and I already had a camping trip planned, without kids, to celebrate our birthdays, in Swannanoa, NC with plans of driving the Blue Ridge Parkway some so that is where we are now. We drove about 190 miles on the Parkway today and had a blast. I am one lucky guy to have the wife I have that wanted me to have this car and enjoyed driving it as much as I do. Sorry this is so long, I'm like a kid in a candy store today. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Oh, the last picture is of a black bear that was walking on the wood guardrail when we were almost back to Asheville.

First, you have a beautiful car. Second, you have a beautiful wife. Third, you live in a really beautiful part of the country. You made good choices all along the way and you will enjoy them for a long time. The C5 'vert is a dream car, especially on roads like the Blue Ridge Parkway. Have a blast, and thanks for sharing.

The AE red is one of my favorites on a Vette. Congrats on your purchase.
