Default Car Lift Review Wanted

I don't have a lot of room. Thinking about getting this lift. Anybody using one? I would like to hear comments from those that have one or have used one.

I bought a used Kwik Lift

http://www.kwik-lift.com/

because I also don't have much space. I do a lot of brake and suspension work on my car (tracking) and man is the kwik lift a pain to deal with when getting wheels on and off. A buddy of mine bought this BendPak lift and absolutely loves it. I used it a few times and it's awesome. I've really been thinking about selling my kiwk lift to buy these.

Do it.

For those that have these, how safe do you feel when working underneath the car?

I have the Quick jack and I no worries working under the car, it just needs to be on secure and level floor.

I have one. One of the best purchases I have made. I feel very comfortable under the car.

That lift looks really unstable. Save your cash, buy a max-jack and pour new footings in the floor if you need the center open for drive line removal. Your life (or some one elses) is worth more than the few hundred you might save.

Seriously?? Just because you've seen a picture and have an opinion? Well gee, why don't I just buy some land and build a big ol' shop and put in two maxjacks? Why stop at two? I'll make it four! Yeah, that's it! Thanks for answering my question.......!

I understand that. They are nice for certain things, but are limited.

My thought about that was you could always set jack stands under it just for added security. I do appreciate the comments of those of you that have one, or used one.....that is what I was interested in.

If you really have already made up your mind, then buy what ever you want. I was trying to make suggestions for your safety. Rod

I was just messing with you, all in fun. My question was specific. I had the same thoughts as you when I first looked at it. But after reading up on it. And the opinions of those who have actually used/own one, I think the lift will suffice for it's designed application. With out going into great detail, I have limited options. You have to work with what you got!

Agreed. I watched some videos on that lift and it looks more substantial than the pictures did. It will probably serve you well. My LR60P is rock solid, but I still put two 4x4's under the ramps just in case. Enjoy!! Rod

I have one, and I like it. I have no concerns about safety.

Will most likely get the BL-5000 lift in the near future.

He will tell you a VERY easy way to get the wheels and tires off your car.

Not to derail the thread, but cliffs notes? Bottle jack won't fit under the rocker, and I can't use my floor jack. The bridge takes a while to get placed right.

Bend-Pak's are the very best made, they come in 4/2/1 Post models and are worth every penny. They have many different heights, check out their website for details. Lots on Ebay.....

Very well said. I also bought mine used. It is wonderful for oil changes and some general work I do on the car. However, I wouldnt want to try a brake job on it (using the Kwiklift special cross members and bottle jacking combo). I may be completely imagining this but I think I saw an electrical powered something that slides under the frame rail under the door, between the wheels, on each side and then lifts the car up enough for the wheels to get off the ground.... If I can remember what this was, perhaps I can use that on the Kwiklift.
