Default Need help with 2 codes

We had some flash flooding last night and I got caught in it.

Car died and tried to start it one time and it wouldn't.

Had it towed to my house to dry out.

I cleaned and dried the BCM this morning and things pretty much

came back to normal.

Dried out the carpets. Charged the battery and removed the breather

assy and air filter.

I tried to start it this afternoon and it didn't do anything. No sound at

all as if it wasn't connected. I checked the codes and got B2721 (pass

key detection circuit). The other code is P1631 (theft deterrent start

enable signal not correct).

I would appreciate any insight with these two codes.

Thanks,

Rock

try this: Turn on ignition w/ engine off for 11 minutes.
Turn ign. off for 30 sec
repeat 2 more times, after leaving ign. off for 30 sec on last one then turn ign. on engine off for 30 sec. then try and start car. if starts clear codes with DIC.

8VETTE7,

With the door closed and the key in the on position the security light is blinking.

Also the check engine light is on and solid. I did try the spare key.

sweet97c5,

I will try the turn ignition on and off.

Thanks

Thanks sweet97c5. The relearn procedure took care of my security issues.

8vette7,

I think I'm in deep trouble. When I first tried to start it after the relearn it was rough and choppy. I have a battery charger on it but it is still low. I have my complete breather assembly off up to the throttle body.

So then I cleared all the codes and tried to start it again and it sounded terrible. A loud metallic screeching noise. I'm afraid to try it again. I'm afraid the engine is locked up?

What do you think?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I'll put it all back together but I think I have much bigger issues here.

When I tried it again it sounded like the starter trying to engage the flywheel and the engine not turning.

I hope I'm wrong. I'll give you an update.

Thanks for all your help.

Shouldn't be hydro locked if you had it running. Glad I could help with other issue, keep us up to speed and we should be able to help you figure it out.

Hope the car did not ingest water and cause a hydrolock condition... If that happened then you may have broken the starter. I'll wait for your post but I will also look up the threads on the Forum about the broken starter........ Hope that is not what happened...
That would indeed be bad.
If it broke the lug off the block, hydrolock from the storm would almost be a good thing: at least that would be a valid insurance claim.

Well I removed the spark plugs and nothing has changed.

It still makes a grinding noise. It's loud. It sounds like something

is slipping, like it's not catching. Doesn't turn over at all.

I've seen a few droplets of water but nothing spraying out the plug

holes.

I guess I'll have it towed to a garage. I don't know what else to do.

I need to know if the engine is locked up or something else is broken.

The oil looked fine. The plugs looked clean.

Thanks

The starter was broke.

I can manually turn the engine clockwise & counter clockwise but it always hangs up at the mark I put on the crank.

FWIW, I would contact your insurance company, just in case.
