Default Turn the key and NOTHING!!!

Here lately sometimes when I go to start the C5, I'll turn the key and nothing (I mean nothing) happens...take the key out, wait 5 minutes and it will fire right up...

This has happened a few times...sometimes multiple times in one day...other days no problem at all...

Any ideas guys????

Try a different key: I've had that happen when the resistor pellet in the key wears down.

Default Might want to check the connections in your ground

in your electrical system.

I agree with Lee....my last C5 did that several times...pulled out the other key and it never happened again.

You can also pull and post your codes. Some No Start, No Crank conditions set codes. Others like a bad starter solenoid do not.

Here is how to pull your codes:

OR

http://www.c5forum.com/ayc/dtcdic.php

Post the H or C or HC that follow each 5 character code. List the codes under the sensor they show up under. ie 10 - PCM or 28 - TCS or 40 - BCM etc.

Had same problem here, so I decided to do the ignition switch mod, bought a used switch to do it, and broke the dog contacts off, all thumbs here.

Have another switch commin to try again.

When my wouldn't do anything, the security light stays on.

Does it only happen when the car is hot or very recently driven or randomly? Mine would do it when hot and would fire up later once it cooled off. Turned out to be the starter, most likely the solenoid. I replaced the whole unit and no problems since.
