Breathless fixed headlights installed
I wasn't going to do this mod for a while but came across a deal I couldn't pass up on these lights. I have read a lot of reviews on the Breathless fixed headlights and how the light output wasn't the greatest but I figured they could be upgraded to make them better. Another member on here sent me some upgrade info for the low beams so I did mod them and it made a tremendous difference. Thanks for your info and time Art. I truley appreciate it. I ordered the 4 on highbeam relay from Breathless still waiting on it to get here. Been over a week now. Over paid about $50 for the damn thing as well. But when it gets here and I get it installed the light output will be more than sufficient. I'm also incorporating a set of running lights with an amber turn signal strip. Can't really see my blinkers that well with the switchback bulbs. Here are a few pics. I will post more after I install the running.lights.

Actually looks pretty good. Nice job on the install.

Could you give a little more detail on the mods you did to increase light output? I want to get new headlights and I am considering all of the options. I can't afford the LCV3 and I don't like the bug-eye look of the Depo lights. Right now a set of ACA's are the front runner, but I think I'd prefer a non-popup light.

The Breathless fixed headlights have a sealed beam light for the low beam. Same size as what the 93 94 Camaro's use. I purchased two Camaro seal beams from ebay, $6.00 ea. Purchased the Sylvania Ultra brite 9005 bulbs from Advance Auto $49.95 and two 9005 plugs about $6.00 ea. Removed the bulb from the seal beam and modified the collar the old bulb was affixed to house the 9005 bulb. Sealed the collar and bulb back to the light housing with some clear silicone. Installed lights back into the Breathless frame fixture. Wired the 9005 plug to the harness and plugged them up. This mod is specifically for the Breathless lights. Major improvement over the supplied low beams that come with the kit.

I bought them new for 1350.00. I do like the design and how they look. If they would have come with the PIAA driving lights as advertised, you wouldn't need the 4 on harness. Ernie from breathless racing did compensate me for the misadvertisment. The low beams are actually high beams sealed bulbs for a 93-97 camaro.

Try 9011 HIR's in place of the 9005's. There's a small tab that needs to be cut off with a Dremel or similar, but they are a noticeable step up from anybody's 9005's.
Got mine from Candlepower in Rockville, MD. Google will find them.

Those 9011 hir have a 65 watt output. These piaa 9005 have a 110 watt output.

With my new ones they came with the 4352 hi beam from the camaro for use as low beam which are 65 watts each.

Technology is achieved when a proprietary gas mixture is combined with an aerospace alloy filament that produces greater light output than its rated power consumption: i.e. 55W = 110W

Now piaa has another 9005 bulb that puts out 120 watts with a 60 watt energy consumption.
