Thanks for the purchase. We will get it out to you today.
Fair thought that we know others may be thinking too.

* The HINSON shifter will not require rebuilding with use like brands with centering springs.

What is the overall height difference between stock C5 shifter and this one?
I'm about to send off a bunch of stuff for custom interior work, and will be having a custom shift boot made. I need to know the difference if you can tell me.
Thanks!

I don't recall exactly, due to all the revisions we went through with this handle in order to get I just right. If you make your new boot to the stock dimensions you won't have any issues.

We hope so. I was referring to the ***** we currently have in stock and the production run of shifter bases we just finished. Your **** is on order with your name on it. As soon as we get it we will send it out to you.

I've got around 150 miles on my car with the new Hinson shifter installed.
WOW!
...is all I have to say. It really is a different car. I do believe the actual height of the shifter is higher than stock, but it's quite comfortable to me as it sits right now. I opted for one of Hinson's shfter *****, but may change that out at some point. I like the exposed metal look of some of the other shifters, and may change it up to a red shifter stick, and maybe a black Hurst T-handle or pistol grip at some point; TBD.
Overall, the gears are VERY close together. You really don't have to hunt for them, just think about what gear you want to go in, and your hand naturally puts it there. I haven't had a miss yet, except for once being in 3rd when I was aiming for 1st, while maneuvering in my driveway. Reverse is a little bit of effort to get over to, but each gear is firm and committed when you are into it. There is no softness like the factory setup. My car only has 17,000 miles on it, and the Hinson shifter is FAR better than the OEM setup, worth the investment. If you are having rotator cuff surgery on your right side though, hold off on this shifter.

Shifter Review
OK so I have had this shifter in for about a month, I had a another short throw in before. Installation was straight forward as I did a initial order and had no directions. My initial impressions were "Wow this shifter is tight, and has very short throws". Saying that it wasn't bad just tight, high effort but so was my last shifter. After putting some miles on my car and getting used to the shifter now I can say WOW. After this thing loosened up and got broke in I haven't missed a shift and the shifter is tight but responsive. I agree that it feels longer than my last short throw but is alot more accurate. The effort has reduced by about 50%, I thought liked high effort shifters (so my wife doesn't want to drive my car) but this thing is smooth and responsive (wife doesn't have to know). One thing I would mention is that it does take some getting used to at first, but it is worth the effort. I find myself running to redline to see how fast I can bang through some gears as I get faster and faster. The guys at Hinson seem to be knowledgeable, have good service, and answer when contacted. This is more than I can say for a few vendors on this site.
