Z06 Titanium exhaust on an LS1 - Anyone have video?
I am planning to put factory z06 titanium axle back tail pipes on my otherwise bone stock 2002 coupe. But before I do, I'd like find a video of what they actually sound like paired with an LS1. I know what the stock exhaust with the LS1 sounds like, and I can find video of what the Z06 sounds like. But, I can't find a video of the z06 exhaust paired with the LS1.
Thanks

Just had this done 2 hours ago. I'll try to get a video up. Very little change. slightly louder at idle.

The Ti exhaust does sound a bit better (although nothing like a good quality aftermarket catback system) but the primary benefit is the weight savings along with better looking exhaust tips than the stock factory exhaust on the LS1.

Well, might have hit a snag on this plan anyway. SWMBO feels I'm spending too much too quickly on the car and I think I may have to wait a while before doing anything with the exhaust, lest I end up sleeping on the couch.
I'm still interested in hearing actual audio of what it sounds like, because I'm definitely still going to do something in the future.

I really like mine... they have been on for a year now and having seen a cutaway of the inside of the Ti exhaust... I started shooting some water in the tail pipe every time I do to the hand held car wash... ( yes I use a car wash, it's NOT an option) anyway... it has slowly but surely gotten a little louder as the steel wool wrapped around some of the baffles is rusting away.. kinda like the old glass packs would burn out and get louder... I am VERY happy with the sound... I can hear it but it's not obnoxious...it does talk when you stand on it! It's a nice upgrade.
I am still considering the Bypass Mod, but, I DON'T want the frag... I get enough of that on the Harley.

I was going to go with the Ti's on my base model Corvette mostly because of cost (you can pick em up for $400 all day long). With stock exhaust manifolds, stock engine, etc. it's hard to see a difference with the Ti's (friend's car). At WOT, I guess it's a little louder but not by much. The Z06 sounds better because it's a different cam, and motor than the base model. Yes, the weight is different and the Ti's are lighter and many hi performance cars use titanium exhaust. I weigh 230, so if I lose 20 lbs, it'll be the same advantage as using Ti's. Personally, it won't make that big of difference. Since I'm going through the hassle of changing the exhaust, my main reason is for sound and Ti's won't give that to me. I decided to go with Borla Stingers and found a used set for $550. A difference of $150 and day and night as far as sound.

I have Dynatech SuperMax headers & TI's & I really like it. Before the TI's, I had Borla Quad-Tip Stingers and the sound was just too loud and aggressive for me. Now, the performance/sound combo is perfect for my tastes.

2003 Coupe - Honker intake, TI Catback and tuned. I noticed a nice change in it's sound. Mild but barks when you get on it. No droning and it's not obnoxious. I really like it. If it ever stops raining here, I'll try and get a vid.
A lot of people want to rattle windows and set off car alarms for reasons that escape me for on the road. If that's what you're after, it wouldn't cut it.

I love mine!!!
They have more of a exotic??? tone as compared to the baritone
notes from the stocker.
I noticed (and did the wife) SLIGHTLY quieter interior or so it appears, inside.
The cold idle sounds WAY better..
And yes, they feel about half the weight of the OEM's..
The only way these are going to come off while I own this car is to
put another set on..

when my z was stock I could barely hear it and was pretty disappointed, in my opinion a muscle/sports car should be heard... needless to say that was one of the first stock parts to go from my car

Also, free flow cats and an x-pipe will help improve the Ti's sound, as well as freer flowing air intake matched with a ported throttle body and intake manifold. More air in, more exhaust out results in a more aggress note from those Tis.
