Default Welcomed by Mustang club

A buddy of mine has a 2009 Shelby Cobra GT500KR , badass supercharged Mustang. Invited me to a Club show today, I said why not. Showed up and was only one other Vette there, a 2014 coupe. They welcomed me, put my car out in the middle of the mix. There were some fine Mustangs there, but my vert was received with no disrespect. I was cautious to go, but afterwards glad I went. Great group of guys.

There are many of us that like all sorts of sports cars for different reasons. I respect power no matter what brand. Glad you met a great group!

My brother has a 2002 Mustang GT, and some of the guys he hangs with, Ford guys, can be real jerks when it comes to other brands, especially GM.I was hesitant to take my vette up there, thought I would just be met with grief and hassle. Not the case at all.

I've had tons of fast cars; mustangs, trans ams, camaros, corvettes, Nissan GTR, etc etc .. I'm not prejudiced against any brand really, I just prefer Corvettes... And LS1 Trans Ams

Like most I have had the run of many models and usually only what the budget would allow, like Mustangs, Firebirds, and what not. So I never put down what brand of car someone drives cause it's pretty much the best they could afford. NOT everyone can drive a Corvette, they have to sell the other cars to everyone else.

Besides how else will they learn and be inspired to strive for a better car if all they see is Mustangs...for crying out loud.

I think a real car guy respects what ever you drive.

I have to agree, Mustang guys aren't all that bad. I recently went to a dyno day sponsored by Mustangs of N.H. and there were like 35 Mustangs, 1 Hellcat, 1 2005 C6, and I had brought my 2005 GTO. They all were very cordial and complimented me on my car and dyno numbers. I was quite impressed with how they acted to us outsiders.

You'll find most car guys appreciate all types of cars. Of course there's always the occasional jerk. But for the most part, it's all in fun.

Years ago I went up to Elk Hart Lake Wisc for vacation with my family. We stayed at a resort on the Lake didn't go up for any race. Well the Shelby Owners of America had their National Convention there. The concourse was on the Resorts Grounds. They welcomed me and invited us to and gave us free passes to the track event the next day at Road America, and let us all sit in the timing tower!! Class Act

Get one of each, that's what we did. Next on the hitlist, a Hellcat!

Proud to be a Corvette guy (my recently purchased 2003 coupe) and a Mustang guy (1969 Sportsroof I've owned 18 years). Absolutely love them both.
