although is sounds like a cool idea......think it through carefully as custom anything esp paint can make it more of a challenge to sell. Hopefully you will get your money's worth of enjoyment and plan to keep your vette for a long time.

If you want something wild, I always liked color changing paint. Maybe one that flips between red and blue.
For something a little more subtle, Lotus made a neat color called moonstone silver. They only painted a handful of cars that way before it was discontinued. It was a 5k option. I think it would look good on a C5. Only bad thing is touch ups are extremely difficult to match properly.

IMO, a couple of the better colors on Corvettes in recent years have been the Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic and Lime Rock Green. I know they are factory colors, but were not available on a C5. Either of those would really depend on the color of your car's interior.
Obviously there are many other custom colors that you could choose from.

Melting Slicks
I remember on an episode of Overhaulin', I saw a color combo that was pretty nice. I was taken with how well it looked. I think it was a Chevelle but I could be mistaken. The car color was champagne (a golden brownish silver) with contrasting dark navy blue top but it had a brown accent stripe between the colors. Went together way better than I would have ever imagined. GL with whatever you choose.

^^^ Yep this would be my vote. Atomic Orange in particular would look fabulous on a C5 FRC. It would not only be a custom color for a C5 but still be a "Corvette" color.
