Default 2003 Hand brake

Does anyone know how to adjust the hand brake? When I pull mine up it seems to go all the way without feeling that the brake is set.

thx
Jerry

Google that question(or any question)...and the answers the universe will unfold, lol. (I don't believe they can be adjusted)

I Googled that question, got a few hits. They said the 'book' tells you to cycle the hand brake 3 times to 'self-adjust' the cables..it worked! Tighter now!

THX!

You can remove the rear wheels and pull off the rotor... the e brake system is much like the old drum brakes...well, it is a tiny version of a drum brake... it has a star adjustment. I adjusted mine to where I could NOT get the rotor back on... then backed it off just enough so that I COULD get the rotor on... WORKS perfect now!

Here is a pictorial link to what I did to mine...

I'm pretty sure they work like a standard drum brake. They adjust the star nut when applied while backing. If you don't want to pull the wheels off and adjust them just back up slowly and apply the parking brake a few times and as long as they engage they should adjust. I do this rolling backwards down my driveway when mine starts to get to where it only applies at the top.
