Default 14 degrees F - Nitto 555 Winter Road Report

Okay, here is part two of my road report of the Nitto 555s. I drove about 100 miles yesterday. The roads were dry and temps were between 14 and 24 degrees. The bottom line is that the tires did great. ABS activated once on a patch of ice at a stop sign. Other than that traction was great.

Good to know the tires did OK in really cold temps.

Thanks for the info. I'll need new tires in the spring and I'm trying to decide between the Nitto 555's and the Falken 453's. What made you choose the Nitto's? Do you have any experience with them in rain?

I was on my second set of Goodyear F1GSD3's (those are GREAT tires) but they quit making them in C5 sizes! I did a lot of research and it was a toss-up between the Khumos and Nittos. The 555's seemed to have better ratings for noise and wet traction. I have driven in light rain and they have done fine. I no better (thru experience!) than to drive the C5 on wet roads when the temp gets below 30.

On my 3rd set of 555s. Good all around performance here in. We have lots of rain here in Fl, never a problem.
