C5 Dream Evaporating with Canadian Dollar
I had my mind set on getting an early C5 this winter (on a budget) Each time something came up and I am ready to pounce, the Canadian Looney slipped against the US powerhouse. My $14K budget went down to $10K then $8K now with the Canadian dollar below 70 cents US, I am now out of the Market. What the hell can I get for around $7K US now? Danm, looks like I am going to be driving my C4 for a lot longer. Damn, damn, damn.

P.S..... Don't try and find a $7,000 beater, you'll regret it !!

I don't know where in Canada you are, but in Kelowna BC (110,000 pop) 2 years ago I had some to choose from. Thankfully one happened to be my 04Z!
With the exchange rate you'll have to keep your purchase in Canada. $14K CAD is a decent budget for a nice C5.

Best to wait a while longer and find something that would be in better condition than a C5 for $7K.

If you can't swing the Vette then consider a '98-02 Trans Am or Camaro Z-28. Basically the same drivetrain as a C5(nonZ06). Then continue to save your pennies and your day will come!

Really? 14K? I haven't seen a single one with under 200km for that> I have mine for sale here and I am on the low side for cars similar to mine. Are you willing to sell yours for 14k? if so you have a buyer in the OP!

I would never sell mine for 14k, but then again, mine is a fully optioned Z51 with only 75,000kms.
In fact, id love to find a decent one for 14k, I'll buy as many as you can throw at me...LOL!

Mine is not a Z51 but is a fully optioned convertible with only 58k on the clock.. Saying you can get a good C5 for 14k in Canada is crazy!! It does nothing to help the owners of these cars, such as myself, whom are trying to sell them!!
