WOW ET, I am just flabbergasted every time I see your car!! Those rotors sure are purty, but a little out of my price range. They are gorgeous though. As mine is my DD, I'll probably have to go with the Brakemotive stuff, but I do expect it to perform properly!!

ET's car is one of the few that sets the standard for the way that a well modded C5 SHOULD look. Beautiful car to say the least. Your opinion is always welcome ET. The Baer's are a little out of my price range at the moment, but I'll definitely look into them down the road.

...and buy the Baer rotors (drilled and slotted) then use oem pads.
If you want to go more economical than ET's setup with "plus 2's" then go with Baer 1 piece rotors. Then you get quality rotors and stopping power with oem pads.
They stop well and with very little brake dust.
Had them all my Corvettes without a problem even during more spirited driving.
If you take car of them, they'll take care of you. ..and they look good.
This is a set of Baer rotors that I had on my StuzVette for 7 years...

Maybe you should consider saving money on the pads...

Score another vote for Baer. I have the two piece Eradispeeds on the front, and the one piece standard size rotors on the rear. Like ET, I have had them for a very long time, maybe 60k miles ago. I originally bought them used (but not very used) for about 50% of list. I use Hawk HPS pads. No dust problems and no rotor wear/judder with age issues. Top class product, IMO.

Soft pads that dust are much safer than hard ceramic pads. Soft pads do not fade, Hard pads require much more heat ( pressure at the pedal )to stop. Ill take safe overf dusting any day.
When we were developing the brake system for the C5, we found that the very soft compound used by BMW, was the most effective pad, but was very dusty. Dave chose a slightly harder pad that still dusted, but worked better for our application. If you notice the front wheels of any late BMW, you will see that they dust. BMW is committed to being one of the safest brake systems on the planet.
You have to understand that soft pad compounds do not heat up, because they break down during the stopping process. This softness, is the reason my rotors have that polished look. You will also see those with hard pads, have discoloration in their rotors. They are usually darker, because it requires much more pressure and heat to create the friction bite necessary to stop.
There will be a guy to follow me in this thread, trying to sell the idea that ceramics don't dust, but stop as well as softer pads. You cant have it both ways.
Also Ceramics, is a buzz word. used as a marketing tool. Some will add 5 % ceramic to their pad compound and call it ceramic..
Bottom line, hard pads wont dust, but they wont stop as well as Carbon Ferrous ( metallic ) pads.
Just imagine this.. take a ceramic tile, and and a rubber stopper block, and drag each one
across a concrete or black top surface. Which one will have more drag ? While the rubber block might shed some of its skin, it will grab much better than the ceramic tile. Or drag a rubber block or a ceramic tile across a steel table top, see which one creates more drag.
You can believe me, or some guy trying to sell you something because he knows what you want to hear. These manufacturer have created the ceramic hype. My car stops on a dime, with out fade, doesn't need a warm up cycle, and the dust created is easily wiped away in less than 3 minutes, when I put my car away.
I have nothing to gain ore lose by offering my educated opinion, without trying to sell you something, for a monetary gain. This thread asked for opinion... and that's what I offered.
Bill aka ET
BTW you wont see any heat discoloration or darkness on my rotors. 80,000 miles 14 years old. Car is 17 years old with 100K
