Default MT Street Comp vs. NT01 vs. R888

For the guys making more than 550 to the wheels, what are you guys having luck with for traction?

Does anyone have experience to share with the MT Street Comps yet? They sound good so far, and I can consider running a squared setup of 295/35/18 @ $250/ea. (these are 300 wear)

R888s seem to meet the traction need and go up to 315s in the rear (I'm running C5 Z wheels) but tread life is ~10k miles and a repeated subjective report is that they are notably loud. $305 per 315/30/18 and $345 per 285/30/18 (100 wear)

NT01s sound similar to R888 traction performance while not carrying as much noise commentary. I can run 315/30/18 at $310/ea with 275/30/18 for $250/ea. (100 wear)

And I'll throw the inexpensive burners out there. How much traction can these provide @ 550+ to the wheels? Sumi HTRZ III in 295/35/18 squared for $152 ea. (300 wear)

if you want to get traction with that kind of power you're going to need an r compound or drag radial to do it so I would skip the first and last tires you listed... I have used the r888's and they are a good tire but more focused on handling around corners as opposed to going straight... they would spin through first with around 420rwhp and dead hook 2nd, they were also not noisy at all to me but my exhaust is pretty loud anyway so it could have masked that... I would think the nt01 would also be comparable to the r888 but I have never used them... if you are more concerned with straight line traction the nitto nt05r is a great tire and I would also look at mickey thompson et street 2's or the new et street ss... the nt05r will most likely have a tad bit less traction than the either of the mickey thompsons I mentioned but will have better handling... in my opinion the nt05r is one of the best all around street tires for higher hp cars
