Default 2004 Zo6 commemorative edition

Have an opportunity to pickup this corvette for 22k, has 40,000 miles. Will not see until tomorrow. Will need to trade my 95 & 02.

What should I look at on these 04 Z06?

For you Zo6 folks, what is a fair price? Thx!

I would say 22K is a good price for the car if it is in above average condition. I just looked up an 04 Z06 and one in average condition brought $18,500 at auction. That is a wholesale number and not a commemorative edition.

Also for what to look for. You shouldn't have to worry if the valve springs have been replaced since its an 04. (common problem with 02/03 Z06)

Just make sure the car doesn't have any current codes and also look for what history codes it may be showing and check them out. ( Turn the ignition to on and then push and hold the options button followed by pushing the fuel button 4 times.

I would also test everything on any C5 such as the windows, door locks, key fobs, ect. If one or some of these don't work you may have an issue with the BCM.

Great test drive today! Everything worked superb. Someone has already put headers and full exhaust. Exhast note and sound is everything and more. Aftermarket air intake, blackwing? Looks like a engine oil cooler installed. MSD wires and coils. Entire compartment clean enough to eat out of. Body and interior typical for age, some wax and leather care, are overdue. Will take another drive tomorrow.

Looks like my 95 and 02 will have a new home next week.

Nice car! looks like someone replaced the Original Polished Z16 wheels with Argent Grey Z06 wheels. Not a big deal but just a FYI... Did you run the VIn and see what build number it was? (again not important but nice to know as a owner)

I am sure you noticed it but it does have an accident on the carfax which will possibly hurt the resale value. I personally will not look at a Vette with a reported accident especially if the car was towed. I imagine this is also why the car does not have the original wheels.

It also states the Engine/powertrain computer/module were replaced after the accident and then the owner sold the car. Not sure how this is the case as you would think it would be totaled if these components needed replaced.

Also the next five owners only kept the car between 2 months and a 1 1/2 years.

Thank you! My sense is the accident and ECM replacement taking place 13 days apart are somehow related? I can tell the driver front fender was replaced. All went well on test drive.

Welcome to Z16 ownership. Mine is my 12th Corvette, and by far the best. Truly a special car. What is your build number?

Thx for the welcome. I'm #1185, at this time am trying to decide on keeping the Argent wheels or finding the original polished wheels and caps ... ?

I'm inclined to do that. With that said, I've read the polished wheels and the CE caps are very difficult to find these days...?

Caps are getting pricey. There is a set in parts for sale, but on the west coast and doesn't want to ship. Fair price. House of Wheels had NOS polished wheels for I think $1200 a set. Don't know if he still has any or not.

The wheels ?? they look good with just about any kind.. I have seen some Stock Z-16 wheels lot too long back.. on the F/S Forum might be still for sale..
