Mil Yellow Wheels on Mil Yellow C5?
Yay or Nay?
This is photoshopped so I didn't make a 1500 dollar real life mistake.
I've always been a fan of the monochromatic "Saleen" look. However on my car I'm not 100% sure I should do it. I suppose if I didn't say "wow! YES!" right away, there is my answer. Maybe I will do it on another set of rims and see in real life. I sort of like this and part of me says not so much. Took me quite awhile to do this with photoshop, now others can see what it looks like as well before doing it. What do you guys/gals think? Yay or Nay?
I'm designing my custom body kit via photoshop as well. This way there will be no surprises. My whole goal is to accentuate what is already there without adding bulky looking panels to the car.

I can offer a view through my eyes. A corvette, is an in your face car... A Yellow Corvette is even more in your face, and a Yellow Corvette with yellow wheels is even more in your face.
This can be a two edge sword.:
It could draw so much attention that it could draw more of the wrong kind of attention.
It could also draw the kudos of any car fanatic.
A car like this could mean ( color wise ) wheels etc. could be construed as slightly immature, view of a Classic design. They did this " in your face look "with the Pace car, and the yellow wheels were not very well received. Initially they were different, and those who bought them like the exclusivity, but I've talked with enough pace car owners that chose to hang the wheels in the garage and go for a more conservative wheel.
Of course this is just my opinion. MY car get enough attention daily, and it not an in your face car. I like the attention, but sometimes its overwhelming. Some times I get someone to hold me to a 40 minute conversation at a gas station or at the bank, etc.
I think the bottom line is it looks cool, but I think it would get old fast.. much like running open headers all the time...its cool at first ..but not so much after a while.
I hope I expressed my opinion in a rational way and in a thought provoking way.
Good luck

My concern is that is a whole lot of yellow going on. Not saying it is bad now, but long term it may be something that I would get tired of.
Perhaps something like the non-spoke/center cap area being high polished. Just throwing out an idea.

Noooo. I'd either go black, Argent grey, maybe aluminum...

The yellow looks - yellow and there is a lot of it but that's OK if you like it.
The black still looks like someone stole you wheel covers/hub caps
Run what you brung, Its all good!

First of all the monochrome look was originally the AMG look. As far as yellow wheels are concerned, IMO it's too much yellow for me. I don't prefer yellow cars in the first place so you can ignore my comment. But I feel this is not something you should depend on the opinion of others. Do you like it, that's all that matters.

I've got a set of thinspoke wheels that are a little rough for sale. $250. 2-9.5x18 & 2-10.5x18. You could paint them up and if you don't like them you wouldn't be out much. Don't pay any attention to everybody else's opinions. Opinions are like buttholes. Everybody has one. Your opinion is all that matters. Period.

I like the yellow on yellow. Re-doing the calipers in black, and swapping in some black lug nuts would give some nice contrast.
